Spring into Summer blanket – free crochet pattern

Adorable (and free) baby blanket crochet pattern. Really nice instructions with photos to help beginners. It makes a really pretty blanket.

A lightweight and colorful corner-to-corner blanket that is written in baby size but can be worked up to any dimensions you want, this Spring into Summer Blanket is pretty terrific! Using a yarn with long-color runs gives the self striping and reduces the need for weaving ends. Works up easily without much brain energy–perfect for relaxing on a warm Spring or Summer day!  Or for sewing over the winter for a new arrival due next year.

What we love about this blanket – the pretty chain-effect borders!  Oh and everything really!  Because this is crocheted corner to corner, you can use it with yarn where you only have a set or limited amount.  Once you get to almost half of the yarn used, simply start to decrease and you should end up with just the right amount.  Don’t forget to leave some for the border, or add this in a different yarn.  A very efficient way to use up your yarn.

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Complete basic crochet stitches: sl st, ch, hdc, dc
  • Read a crochet pattern in standard American terms (written instructions and photo instructions are supplied)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 32in (82cm) X 32in (82cm) for baby blanket, but easily adjusts to any dimensions you wish
