Flower Lattice Stitch Crochet Instructions
One of the most repeated patterns to do in this stitch is making the flower petal.
** Make a petal – Ch 3, 2 dc in the center. Ch3, sl st in the center.
It’s a must to understand this pattern since you’ll use this pattern in different variations.
Now, let’s start learning how to make this stitch!
Row 1 (Half flowers)
Chain 7. Count 4 chains (ch) from the hook, insert the hook in the 4th chain, and slip stitch (sl st). You have the center of the flower (center).
* Ch 3, make 2 double crochet (dc) in the center. Ch 3, then sl st in the center. This completes a petal of the flower. Repeat it one more time (another petal). Then ch3 and 2 dc in the center.
Ch 10. Insert the hook in the 4th chain from the hook, and slip stitch (sl st). (center of another flower) *
Repeat this pattern until you get your desired number of flowers per row.
Row 2 (Complete the flowers from Row 1)
Ch 3. Sl st to the center. (This will complete the second petal of the last flower from the previous row). ** Make a petal.
Ch 3, 2 dc in the center. Sl st in the 4th chain from the center.
Ch 7, sl st in the last double crochet in the flower from the previous row.
Repeat this pattern for all the flowers except the last one.
To complete the last petal of the first flower, ch 3, 2 dc in the center. Sl st in the last chain.
Row 3
Ch 10. Count 4 ch from the hook, insert the hook in the 4th chain, and sl st. You have the center.
Ch 3, 2 dc in the center. Join this with the first ch 7. Sl st on the ch 7 space. Ch3 and sl st to complete the petal.
Ch 3, 2 dc in the center.
Ch 3, join it to the third petal of the flower in the previous row. Sl st into the third chain.
Repeat this pattern until the second to the last flower.
To make the last flower, Ch 10. Count 4 ch from the hook, insert the hook in the 4th ch, and sl st. You have the center.
Ch 3, 2 dc in the center (part of the first petal). Turn your work, insert a dc into the top of the second chain, in the second petal of the flower from the previous row.
Turn your work back, and complete the first petal by chain 3, sl st in the center.
Work on the second petal (** Make petal)
Row 4
** Make a petal.
Ch 3, 2 dc in the center. Sl st in the 4th chain from the center.
Ch 7, sl st in the last double crochet in the flower from the previous row.
* Repeat this pattern for all the flowers except the last one.
Complete the petals of the last flower. To complete the last petal of the last flower, ch 3, 2 dc in the center. Sl st in the 4th chain.
Row 5
Ch 10. Count 4 ch from the hook, insert the hook in the 4th ch, and sl st. You have the center.
** Make a petal.
Ch 3, dc in the center. Sl st in the 3rd chain from the chain 6. Ch 3, sl st in the center.
Ch 3, 2 dc. (you’ll have 3 petals for this flower).
Ch 3, join it to the third petal of the flower in the previous row. Sl st into the third chain.
Ch 10. Count 4 ch from the hook, insert the hook in the 4th chain, and sl st. You have the center.
Ch 3, 2 dc in the center. Join this with the first ch 7. Sl st on the ch 7 space. Ch3 and sl st to complete the petal.
Ch 3, 2 dc in the center.
Ch 3, join it to the third petal of the flower in the previous row. Sl st into the third chain.
* Repeat this pattern until the second to the last flower.
To make the last flower, Ch 10. Count 4 ch from the hook, insert the hook in the 4th ch, and sl st. You have the center.
Ch 3, 2 dc in the center. Join this with the first ch 7. Sl st on the ch 7 space. Ch3 and sl st to complete the petal.
Ch 3, 2 dc.
Turn your work. Dc in the top of the second chain in the third petal of the flower in the previous row. Turn back your work.
Row 6
Ch 3. Sl st to the center. (This will complete the second petal of the last flower from the previous row). ** Make a petal.
Ch 3, 2 dc in the center. Sl st in the 4th chain from the center.
Ch 7, sl st in the last double crochet in the flower from the previous row.
Repeat this pattern for all the flowers except the last one.
To complete the last petal of the first flower, ch 3, 3 dc in the center.
Repeat Row 3 to Row 6 until you get your desired length.
