Floral Trellis Stitch Crochet Written Instructions
Any number of Flower Units.
1st row (right side): 7 ch, *sl st into 4th ch from hook, 3ch, into ring just formed work a Base Flower Unit of [2tr, 3ch, sl st, 3ch, 2tr]**, 10ch; rep from * ending last rep at ** when fabric is required width, then keep same side facing and turn so as to be able to work along underside of Base Flower.
2nd row (right side): *3ch, sl st into ch ring at centre of Flower, 3ch, [2tr, 3ch, sl st – centre Petal completed, 3ch, 2tr] all into same ring, miss 2ch of base chain which connects Units, sl st into next ch, 7 ch, miss 2ch, sl st into next ch; rep from * into next and each Base Flower Unit to end, turn.
Note: Check that each Base Flower Unit is not twisted before you work into it.
3rd row: 11ch, sl st into 4th ch from hook, 3ch, 2tr into ring just formed, 3ch, sl st into top of 3ch of centre Petal of last Flower made in previous row, *10ch, sl st into 4th ch from hook, 3ch, 2tr into ring just formed, sl st into 4th of next 7 ch arch of previous row, 3ch, [sl st, 3ch, 2tr] into same ch ring as last 2tr, 3ch, sl st into top of 3ch of centre Petal of next Flower in previous row; rep from * to end, turn.
4th row: 9ch, miss 2ch, sl st into next ch, *3ch, sl st into ch ring at centre of Flower, 3ch, work [2tr, 3ch, sl st, 3ch, 2tr] into same ring, miss 2ch, sl st into next ch, 7ch, miss [3ch,sl st and next 2ch], sl st into next ch; rep from * ending 3ch, sl st into ch ring at centre of last Flower, 3ch, 2tr into same ring, turn.
5th row: *10ch, sl st into 4th ch from hook, 3ch, 2tr into ring just formed, sl st into 4th ch of next arch of previous row, 3ch, [sl st, 3ch, 2tr] into same ch ring as last 2tr**, 3ch, sl st into top of 3ch of centre Petal of next Flower in previous row; re from * ending last rep at **, turn.
Rep 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th rows.
When fabric is required length, finishing after a 4th (right side) row, continue down left side to complete edge Flowers as follows: *3ch, [sl st, 3ch, 2tr, 3ch, sl st, 3ch, 2tr] all into ch ring at centre of edge Flower, miss 3ch, sl st into next ch**, 6ch, sl st into last ch before centre Petal of next edge Flower; rep from * ending last rep at ** after last edge Flower.
Fasten off.
