Welcome to our first Crochet Designer Showcase. Each month we’ll aim to feature a couple of crochet pattern designers and stores with high quality or unique patterns that we think deserve your attention. We love small independent designers – they have great imagination, unique styles, and a wide range of crochet interests and projects we can follow.
Of course, not every designer is going to be your style or feature the products and projects that you like, but we hope you’ll support small business and share these articles with your Pinterest boards, pages and crochet groups to get these designers more recognition and sales.
Akari Crochet Patterns on Etsy
Our first designer showcase is Akari Crochet who has a store on Etsy. She features mostly patterns that might appeal to a younger audience, so if you have a teen or woman in her twenties to crochet for – show her these patterns and we think she’ll be begging you to make her something so pretty and feminine.
The owner/designer is Melissa from Montevideo, Uruguay. She says “Crochet is my “therapy”, I love to try different things and create new designs. My goal is always to create original pieces and easy to follow patterns so people can find them fun and relaxing to make.”
Melissa does have a few hats and scarves in her store, but where she really shines is in her pretty designs for bikinis, crop tops and fine crochet halters. Here are just a few of her great crochet patterns for you to enjoy. Please do click on through and check our her full store, and support her with a purchase. You can never have too many crochet patterns!
